2nd to 5th November 2019

In my mind the 4 peaks is a big party. Friends gather over four days, we run up mountains and celebrate our efforts over beers.
The 4 peaks is a multi day stage race where you run up four different mountains, one each day. Your individual times are totalled and then you are ranked on your total. The race is located in Bright and Harrietville, Victoria, surrounded by the Victorian Alps.
Day 1: Mt Buffallo – 10km
Day 2: Mt Feathertop – 12km
Day 3: Mt Hotham – 14km
Day 4: Mystic Hill – 11km

Mt Buffallo
Finish: 1:22:16
Overall: 29/378
Age Category (18-29): 4/13
Gender: 27/168
The climb up Mt Buffallo is mostly all single track and stairs. I ran hard with all the race energy fueling me.

Mt Feathertop
Finish: 1:13:19
Overall: 13/316
Age Category (18-29): 3/12
Gender: 13/150
It rained most of day two while we pushed hard up Mt Feathertop. Due to the weather the race course was cut short, the final climb from the hut to the summit was removed. This was to ensure the safety of all the runners, volunteers and race directors from hypothermia. Rijan and I shouted in excitement while at the new finish line soaked from head to toe. We both were loving the rain and life at this moment. Before the cold had set in dropping our core temperature we began our descent down Mt Feathertop.
There is no easy way to go down Mt Feathertop and once you have finished your 12km climb you make your own way down back to harrietville, Vic.

Mt Hotham
Finish: 2:00:59
Overall: 29/293
Age Category (18-29): 5/14
Gender: 27/141
This tough climb takes you up the Bon Accord Spur. Taking you on beautiful single track with unbelievable views overseeing Victoria. This trail is a must for every trail runner.

Mystic Hill
Finish: 1:00:33
Overall: 10/274
Age Category (18-29): 4/14
Gender: 10/134
Day four is a looped course consisting of fire trails and it contains the steepest gradient of all four days. With three days of mountain climbing deeply felt in my legs I gave it my all this day. Pushing the uphills with great determination and pushing the downhills as fast as I could, running a 16 minute 5km.

Overall
Finish: 5:37:08
Overall: 18/214
Age Category (18-29): 2/11
Gender: 18/106
This race is all about mountain running and community. It is hands down one of my favourite races to date. If you enjoy trail running, being in mountains, alpine views and great local food this is the race for you.
